- Initiated and conducted a nationwide search for a new Executive Director.
- Multi-cultural committee nurtured the relationship with the African American Secretariat, Hispanic Affairs Secretariat and The Leadership Campaign which resulted in the collaborative development of World AIDS Day resources.
- The Network continued to solicit donors for the Commitment Fund to exceed the goal of $100,000.
- The National Catholic AIDS Network relocated to office space on the campus of Loyola University Chicago in July.
- The Spanish translation of Many Threads, One Weave completed.
- The Network convened two sessions of the AIDS Educators Roundtable in Washington, DC to bring together leaders in Catholic Education to develop strategies to raise awareness about HIV/AIDS and implement the findings of the CARA report.
- The Religious/Clergy Leadership Roundtable was held in June at Resurrection Hospital in Chicago.
- The 16th Annual National Catholic HIV/AIDS Ministry Conferences was held July 14-23 with the theme, Sent Out Two-By-Two. At the Lumina Dinner, the Network recognized the Augustine Stewardship Fund of the Norbertine Community, the Charles A. Frueauff Family Foundation and the Priests of the Sacred Heart for their generous support of the mission and work of the National Catholic AIDS Network.
- Rodney DeMartini held meetings with key partners around the country to foster partnerships and support for the Network.
- Dan Lunney appointed as Interim Executive Director to succeed Fr. Rodney DeMartini, the founding Executive Director.
- The Network exhibited at the joint Major Superior of Men and Leadership Conference of Women Religious Conference, at the Catholic Charities USA Conference, at the National Association of Church Personnel Administrators Conference and at the National Catholic Youth Conference.
- The Network presented at St. Norbert College and Marion College in Wisconsin.
- Dan Lunney asked to serve on the Archdiocese AIDS Task Force for the Archdiocese of Chicago.
- In December 2003, the National Catholic AIDS Network received the Tree of Life Award from the AIDS Pastoral Care Network. The AIDS Pastoral Care Network honored the Network for its commitment to serving and nurturing those involved in HIV and AIDS ministry and for the annual national conference.
