- Over 600 referral, technical support and networking inquiries into the Network office.
- Participation in the Council of National Religious AIDS Networks sponsored by the AIDS National Interfaith Network in Washington, DC.
- Speaking engagements and/or informational exhibits at the following events: National Organization for the Continuing Education of Roman Catholic Clergy Convention, Los Angeles Religious Education Congress, National AIDS Update, National Federation of Priests Councils Convention, National Association of Catholic Diocesan Lesbian and Gay Ministry Conference, National Association of Church Personnel Administrators Conference, LCWR/CMSM Convention, National Religious Vocation Conference, Catholic Charities USA, U.S. Conference on AIDS.
- Hosting bi-annual roundtable discussions at the United States Catholic Conference.
- Convening an annual leadership roundtable of representatives of national Catholic organizations regarding the issues faced by Religious and Clergy living with and affected by HIV/AIDS.
- Support for the development of regional groups associated with the National Catholic AIDS Networks and an annual convening at the Ministry Conference; Rev. Rodney DeMartini met with new regional groups including a convening for the State of New York and a meeting hosted by the Diocese of Worchester including participants from the dioceses of Springfield, Boston, and Providence.
- Promotion of the Youth Initiative to raise awareness about the special challenges facing youth and young adults in response to the HIV/AIDS pandemic; participation in the National Youth Ministry Conference and collaborative planning with the National Federation for Catholic Youth Ministry.
- Significant updating and revision of content, and expansion of features at our website, www.ncan.org.
- Continued expansion of coverage and feature articles in Connections.
- Development of a collaborative publication with the National Association of Church Personnel Administrators on AIDS in the Catholic Workplace.
- Participation in the AIDS & Religion in America Conference convened by the AIDS National Interfaith Network.
- Participation in working group convened by Pontifical Council for the Pastoral Care of Health Care Workers, Vatican City.
- Establishment of the Rembert G. Weakland Fund for Pastoral Leadership. Funded by the St. Camillus Foundation, the Weakland Fund will assist in the education of religious and clergy involved in HIV/AIDS ministry.
