National Catholic AIDS Network at Loyola University Chicago
June 18, 2005
National Catholic AIDS Network enters into a formal collaboration agreement with Loyola University Chicago. A network cannot exist without partnerships. Throughout the years, the mission of the National Catholic AIDS Network has been made possible through the individuals, communities and organizations that form the Network. After months of negotiation and talks, the Network and Loyola University Chicago have agreed to a formal collaboration which will commence July 1, 2005. I am very excited about this evolution of the Network’s relationship with Loyola. The collaboration will allow the Network and Loyola to work together in promoting awareness about HIV/AIDS. In the coming years, look for joint programs, courses and workshops that will utilize the resources of NCAN and Loyola. Our main point of connection with Loyola will be with the Institute for Pastoral Studies which is led by Robert Ludwig, Ph.D. Over the next few months, the Network will be unveiling and highlighting various aspects of the National Catholic AIDS Network at Loyola University Chicago. At the conference in July, Fr. Michael Garanzini, President of Loyola University Chicago and Fr. Robert Vitillo, President of the National Catholic AIDS Network board will host a ceremony to celebrate the collaboration. I wish to extend a special thanks to Steve Bergfeld from Loyola who shepherded the collaboration agreement through Loyola.
