Hurricane Wilma Update 26 October 2005
October 26, 2005
I spoke with Elsie Miranda from Miami today and she and her loved ones are ok. They are without power, but she is looking on the bright side of things by stating that the Hurricane has brought the neighborhood together. They have breakfast together and are planning the clean-up. Elsie was taking down the plywood shutters and giving thanks for being able to allow the sunshine in again. She reported that her parents' business has suffered roof damage.
Please contact me with any additional information about friends in southern Florida.
Brenda Tirado Torres has been in touch with Sr. Mary Annel in San Salvador in the aftermath of the hurricane a couple of weeks ago. Sr. Mary and others were mobilizing efforts to help those who were displaced by the hurricane and the resulting landslides.
