Advocacy
The National Catholic AIDS Network joins with other people, communities
and organizations in giving voice to those who are silenced or have no voice.
In keeping with Catholic Social Teaching, we advocate for the preferential
option for the poor and affirm the worth and dignity of all human beings
because we are created in the image and likeness of God.
We strive to eliminate the injustices that contribute to the HIV/AIDS pandemic. The Ecumenical Advocacy Alliance is a group of Church bodies and organizations who have joined together to address a whole range of issues that are linked with the HIV/AIDS pandemic. For more information, you can visit the World Council of Churches, where you can view their Covenant for Action (PDF document). Fr. Bob Vitillo, NCAN Board President, serves as one of the co-chairpersons and was involved in the drafting of the Plan of Action for the Ecumenical Advocacy Alliance (PDF format).
