As part of NCAN’s participation on the Coalition for Accessibility in Higher Education, we’re inviting you to hear from Coalition founding organizations the National Center for Learning Disabilities (NCLD) and the Center for Higher Education Policy and Practice (CHEPP) at Southern New Hampshire University. Coalition members will provide an overview of obstacles students with learning differences have faced over the last several years, and some of the solutions that have arisen in response, including the RISE Act. They’ll also share resources for better assisting your students with learning differences, including the Coalition’s newest publication, “Accessible by Design: A Comprehensive Playbook for Higher Education: A Practical Guide to Embedding Accessibility Across Digital, Physical, and Institutional Systems,” which features an NCAN member case study. Attendees can expect to leave with better strategies to foster student self-advocacy and recommendations for your institutional partners to better serve students with learning differences. Thank you to the Oak Foundation for your support of this programming.
