Community college students who intend to transfer face a myriad of challenges and obstacles. What are students reporting about the barriers they face? What role can transfer student advocates play in helping community college students successfully transfer? Connecting community college students with opportunities both on community college campuses and their future four-year college or university is a key component to retention and progress towards graduation. Join Fulfillment Fund in Los Angeles, CA, and Woodward Hines Education Foundation in Jackson, MS, as they share how they’ve used student feedback and robust data tracking to create partnerships and resources to help community college transfer students achieve successful outcomes. Participants will leave the session with examples of meaningful metrics, as well as resources and toolkits that can be applied to their own work with community college transfer students. - Brian Thomas, Director, Jackson Get2College Center, Woodward Hines Education Foundation
