Last Sept. 30, NCAN launched a brand new campaign to help high
school seniors from low-income households get money for college. With your
support, in its first year Form
Your FutureTM drove
more than 154,000 clicks to fafsa.gov through
social media targeted directly at students, and provided free resources at formyourfuture.org to nearly
4,000 college access and success professionals helping those students complete
the FAFSA.
Each year, more than $24 BILLION in financial aid goes
unclaimed. We know there are students out there who could really use this
money, and our digital advertising campaign is getting their attention – one
video alone received more than 4 million views. Our collective work to
spread this message helped
reverse a four-year decline in FAFSA completions, including a
nine-percent increase in filing among high school seniors. Despite this
enormous accomplishment, still just 61 percent of the high school class of 2017
filed the form.

The continued need for this work is clear, and with the
new cycle having opened Oct. 1, Form Your Future is back in business
for the 2018-19 FAFSA. Visit the campaign
website today for an updated FAFSA Guide with step-by-step instructions
for surviving the process, from creating an FSA ID to post-filing steps; a Social
Media Toolkit with already prepared graphics and text for you to blast out to
students; and an Event Toolkit with templates, checklists, presentations and
more to ensure your FAFSA-focused gatherings are smooth and successful. Then
follow the campaign on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn (group and company page) and Instagram to keep
up with and share our social media content, which will continue to emphasize
that students have an 85% chance of getting some kind of student financial aid,
and 92% of applicants from low-income households get grant money that never has
to be paid back.
Whether your organization is new to the cause of FAFSA completion or has been doing it for years, Form Your Future has valuable resources to connect you to the national FAFSA completion movement. Together, we can help students complete this life-changing form!
