NCAN recently updated and re-released our K-12 College and Career Readiness Calendar. This is a valuable resource for K-12 districts, schools, and the partners who work with them. Our 15-month K-12 college and career readiness calendar tracks major college and career readiness activities and offers the best resources for conducting them.

The digital version of the K-12 calendar is sortable by time of year, topic, and more. You can explore the interactive college and career readiness calendar here.

This calendar is periodically refreshed with the very best resources related to topics like training and professional development, financial aid and FAFSA, data, and postsecondary advising, among others.

This release is the latest in a series of NCAN resources aimed at K-12 district and school leaders, school counselors, and other stakeholders, including community partners. It evolved out of lessons learned from NCAN’s To & Through Advising Challenge, which previously saw 20 school districts and community partners across the country implement plans to change their postsecondary advising practices.

For more on how school district can enable students' postsecondary success, check out the district-level enabling conditions framework that 17 leading college access organizations from across the country collaborated on together!

There are a lot of moving parts when advancing a cogent, cohesive, and comprehensive college and career readiness plan. The calendar helps to keep all of those pieces straight while making it easy to find best practices. Additionally, the calendar ensures districts and schools won’t have to sift around to find examples of how to put the practices in place.

If you’re an NCAN member working in, with, or adjacent to a K-12 district or school, please share this resource widely with the leaders and practitioners there. We’re doing our best to make sure these college and career readiness resources get in front of the people who can put them into place. Thank you in advance, and please let us know if there are additional resources we can add to the calendar or develop separately!

Also, the PDF version of the calendar is still available to download (for free) here.
