Professional Questions
Q: What brought you to the college access and success field initially? A: For me, it has been very important to see youth realize their potential and achieve their post-secondary goals. Through my work experiences, I have seen how college affordability has been one of the major barriers for students. As a first-generation
college student, I am aware of the challenges my family encountered when I first applied for college and tried to decipher the financial aid process.
Q: What do you love most about your role or organization? A: uAspire is doing amazing work by supporting students and their families through their various impact models. Through my role, I appreciate the opportunity
to collaborate with my colleagues and play a part in uAspire's efforts to challenge the systems that make college unaffordable and help students feel empowered to achieve their dreams and goals.
Q: What's your favorite thing about being an NCAN member? A: My favorite thing about being an NCAN member is the sense of community and collaboration that it offers. NCAN provides a platform where professionals,
organizations, and individuals come together to make a significant impact on college access and success. Through the various events NCAN offers, I have had the opportunity to connect with like-minded individuals who are passionate about education
and equity. Being a member has also allowed me to stay updated on the field's latest research, best practices, and policy developments. I've gained valuable insights and resources that have helped me in my work.
