NCAN is excited to announce the selection of a cohort of 15 College and Career Readiness (CCR) Fellows. The fellowship will focus on professional development in order to grow the fellows into more effective college and career readiness leaders in their
schools, communities, and states. Fellows will also act as an on-the-ground resource for NCAN to receive feedback on various K-12-focused resources. Through communication with the fellows, NCAN will be able to produce materials that are responsive
to specific needs identified by practitioners themselves.
NCAN established the fellowship program with support from the recently-awarded Postsecondary Pathways Project.
The fellows were selected from among the 15 states where NCAN has a statewide partner to assist with the dissemination of college and career readiness resources and training.
On top of this professional development and valuable practitioner feedback, the final part of the fellowship will feature advocacy training that will help the fellows to act as more effective advocates within their states.
This training will be delivered through one-on-one sessions with coaches, group meetings centered around key CCR activities, and pre-conference meetings at NCAN’s next two national conferences.
The 15 selected fellows represent 12 states and serve in professional roles where they are either partially or fully devoted to CCR activities like FAFSA completion, postsecondary advising, and analyzing National Student Clearinghouse (NSC) data.
The fellows and their respective districts/charter networks include:
Daryl Beebe, Wayne Westland Community School District (MI)
Anthony Cook, Osceola County Schools (FL)
