Join us for NCAN’s second annual Executive Leadership Retreat from 9am-12pm on April 7th, during the 2026 NCAN Leadership Summit in Washington, DC.
This half-day retreat is designed to create intentional space for NCAN member executive leaders to step away from the daily demands of running mission-driven organizations and focus on what matters most right now: how to lead with clarity, courage,
and alignment in a rapidly shifting postsecondary landscape.
Together, you will engage with peers from across our national network in high-level dialogue and strategic but practical solution sharing. By the end of the retreat, executive leaders will:
Strengthen their ability to navigate the ongoing policy changes and political influences that directly affect their staff, students, and partners. We’ll tackle big topics such as the growing emphasis on short-term credentials and the end
of in-state tuition for undocumented students.
Reflect on and refine their executive leadership practice in the context of unprecedented political pressure, capacity constraints, and the college-going narrative uncertainty surrounding our field. Through thoughtfully curated leadership
development activities and discussions, we’ll help you stay anchored to your mission, values, and long-term vision to lead with greater clarity, courage, and alignment.
The session will run concurrently with the NCAN Leadership Summit policy panels in the morning, and will include an Executive Leaders’ Working Lunch in the afternoon. Following morning programming, participants will re-join the Summit for additional
sessions featuring policy content and advocacy training.
The retreat will be capped at the first 50 executive leaders – we encourage you to register today!
NOTE: You must register for the Leadership Summit in order to register for the Executive Leadership Retreat. Once you are registered for the Summit, executive leaders will receive a link to secure your spot for the Executive Leadership Retreat.
