We know that FAFSA completion is a priority for your programs and students. We know that your students submitted an aid application because, well, they have your guidance and support. But did you know that with the click of a few buttons, your students could enter a drawing to win $1,000 as a reward for completing the FAFSA?

The College Board Opportunity Scholarship program (CBOS) offers students the chance to win various scholarship awards just for doing exactly what they are supposed to be doing, like submitting a FAFSA! Help your students verify that they have completed these steps by Feb. 29, 2020. After all, they’ve already done the heavy lift of completing a FAFSA and submitting it, all it takes now is a few more clicks and they can be entered into a drawing to win up to $1,000.

In all, 100 prizes will be awarded from February’s “Complete the FAFSA” submissions. Additionally this month, there will be another 500 prizes worth $1,000 each for students who complete the “Apply to Colleges” step.

So, have at it and help your students get a chance to win these prizes for work they have already completed. Half of all CBOS scholarships will be awarded to students from low-income or middle-income families.

  • Step 1: Go to opportunity.collegeboard.org to sign in (or create an account).
  • Step 2: Click the yellow “View progress” button.
  • Step 3: Click to verify what’s been completed and submit!

*Please note, if students have not yet signed up for CBOS, they must create an account first to begin entering the various drawings.
