The 9th annual #Thankful4Pell #DoublePell advocacy campaign wrapped up last week. The campaign, which ran November 14-23, saw NCAN members and other supporters express their appreciation for the Pell Grant as well as urge Congress to double the maximum size of the grant.

The campaign, which was primarily social media based, saw 75 tweets using the hashtag #Thankful4Pell. This included NCAN CEO Kim Cook, who was a Pell recipient herself.

NCAN urged our members and partners to utilize this social media kit and video to share why Pell was important to them. A special shoutout goes to the Capital Area College Attainment Network for featuring students they serve who have been personally impacted by the Pell Grant.

Members also used NCAN’s Action Center to reach out to elected officials to urge them to double the maximum size of the Pell Grant. A total of 30 members of Congress were contacted.

Thank you again to all who took the time to participate in the campaign. Your efforts make a difference for current and future students.
