Elizabeth WoodProgram FellowPronouns: She/Her/Hers Elizabeth Wood, a proud North Carolina native, is pursuing a Master of Education in Higher Education Administration at North Carolina State University. Driven by a commitment to equity and lifelong learning, she is dedicated to advancing student success and creating inclusive educational environments. Before joining the National College Attainment Network (NCAN), Wood demonstrated her dedication to expanding college access as a College Adviser with the Carolina College Advising Corps in Reidsville, NC. As a college adviser, she guided hundreds of students through college applications and financial aid processes, achieving significant gains in Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) completion and post-secondary enrollment. Her professional journey also includes participation in the 2024 Gueron Scholars Program at MDRC, and she currently serves as the Graduate Assistant for the Women in Science and Engineering (WISE) Village at North Carolina State University (NC State). In this role, she designs and implements impactful programs that promote inclusion and belonging in STEM and supports the academic and personal development of undergraduate women. Passionate about community building, Wood serves on the executive board of NC State’s Black Graduate Student Association and is actively engaged in volunteering in her hometown of Durham, NC. She plans to continue shaping higher education policy and driving post-secondary educational reform after graduation. |
