Understanding that the information provided to students can vary according to workforce conditions is an important aspect of providing career success services. State- and community-level conditions can vary substantially. The positions that are in demand in one state may not be as in need in another, and projections for future positions in given states and communities may vary. Fortunately, many states have established websites providing workforce and career information. This information also varies by state, but common features include projections of workforce needs, career inventories and planning tools, wage and employment data, and information on state-level programs tied to specific industries and employers.
