Coming Soon: New BigFuture to Guide Students
BigFuture™ launched in 2012 to connect students, families, and educators with resources informed by College Board research and member institutions. We introduced new tools, including Career Finder™ in 2019, a refreshed Scholarship Search tool in 2020, and an updated College Search tool in June 2021.
Last year, more than 10 million users visited BigFuture. However, we heard from users and saw for ourselves a need, especially now, to better connect tools and personalize guidance through a mobile-first site.
The student experience on BigFuture will evolve in the coming months. By the end of January, students will see a dashboard with steps to explore careers, plan for college, and pay for college. This is just the beginning. Based on feedback from you and
your students, we’ll continually refine BigFuture over time to deliver more student-friendly, accessible content.
Now Available for Class of 2023: BigFuture Scholarships to Reward Effort
Ahead of these changes, we just announced new incentives to reward student effort on BigFuture to plan and pay for college. BigFuture Scholarships (formerly known as College Board Opportunity Scholarships) feature more opportunities for more students
to earn money for college. Since 2019, College Board has awarded over $12 million to nearly 14,000 students, including these winners.
Two $40,000 winners every month: BigFuture will reward progress wherever students are on their journey. Each month, between January 2022 and February 2023, BigFuture will award two $40,000 scholarships and hundreds of $500 awards
to students in the class of 2023 who complete college planning steps on BigFuture.
More ways to qualify for $500 and $40,000: By completing any of the six steps on BigFuture, students will earn entries into monthly drawings for both $500 and $40,000 awards. For each additional step they complete, students will earn
more entries in drawings for $500 and $40,000. The more steps that students complete and the earlier they start, the more chances to win.
Simple participation: Juniors with College Board accounts will be automatically entered into monthly drawings for $500 and $40,000 when they complete steps on BigFuture, like building a college list or exploring other scholarships.

Integration into BigFuture: These simple scholarships will be integrated into the new BigFuture dashboard, rewarding students for steps they take to plan and pay for college.
